As the name suggests, our house, "Rifugio San Filippo" is a retreat for those who serve in the Lord's vineyard. These servants (Missionaries, Pastors, Priests, Bishops or other ministers) come to us to find rest, refresh body and soul, and connect with God in the silence and solitude of nature, so that they may be strengthened both physically and spiritually.

We are not a holiday home or a base for sightseeing tours. Rather, we are a place of peace and quiet. Those who wish to use us for a cheap or free holiday are advised to find a regular hotel or guesthouse. 

Therefore, in the future, we will only accept applications from people who are truly seeking peace for both body and soul in the quiet and solitude of nature.

What do I need to keep in mind when applying for a booking?

To avoid any misunderstandings regarding your application, we have listed some requirements here and kindly ask you to send us this information.

• Name and address
• Mobile phone number (very important)
• Number of persons with age and gender
• Name of your church or mission organisation
• Please tell us briefly the reason for your application
• Length of stay: min. one week, max. two weeks
• Exact booking date (arrival/departure) *
• Allergies/Intolerances

* We do not accept constantly changing booking dates, as this prevents others from booking a stay with us. Exceptions: War and natural disasters.

How can you reach us?

We have excellent public transport by train. There's a train station just 5 km from us, with connections to all destinations in Italy. The station is called "Villafranca-Bagnone". We'll gladly take our guests to and from the station. No problem.

There is also a free app for train services in all languages, which can be downloaded from the app store. The app is called "Trenitalia". The nearest airport is Pisa. From there you can easily reach our train station (Villafranca-Bagnone).

If you'd like to be independent during your stay with us, we recommend renting a car. We are surrounded by nature, 5 km away from all shops, pharmacies, etc.

Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner

In the mornings, there is a generous breakfast buffet. At lunchtime, we offer a small hot or cold meal upon request, and in the evenings, there is a three-course dinner. Drinks are also included. Our guests don't have to cook or shop. All meals are included in our service.

What payment methods can be used to donate?

At our Retreat house, “Rifugio San Filippo,” you can make a donation by credit card or by bank transfer.

When is the Retreat house "Rifugio San Filippo" open?

We are open from May 1st to October 31th. 
During the other months, the weather is not good, and we use this time for maintenance and renovations.
